| Rivermen Game-Worn Jersey Auctions Start April 23 and 25
Peoria, Ill. (April 16, 2007) - Peoria Rivermen Equipment Manager Joel Farnsworth announced today that the team will auction off its game-worn and game-issued Rivermen Home White and Road Blue jerseys on April 23 and April 25, respectively, at 9:00 a.m. on eBay (www.eBay.com). The jerseys up for auction may be found on www.eBay.com by typing "Peoria Rivermen Game-Worn Jersey" into the Category Search. Bidding on each jersey begins at $175, and both auctions will last for seven days, closing at 5:00 p.m. (all times local) on Sunday, April 29 and Tuesday, May 1, respectively. All bidders must have an eBay account which can be created at any time. Fans may also click the eBay logo on the right side of the front page of the Rivermen Web site, www.rivermen.net. Each jersey was made by CCM/RBK Hockey from Poly Air Knit Mesh with airflow side panels and underarm inserts.
Bus company upset by bids
An Illinois company is likely to win many of the 29 contractor-operated bus routes being bid this spring by the Greater Clark County Schools, leaving longtime local operators concerned about the bidding process. "I think it's tainted," Don Tetley, a partner in K and T Inc., said after his Clarksville-based company apparently lost its five routes in the Jeffersonville area to Illinois Central School Bus Services. .
Marshall city officials take oaths, approve asphalt bids
The Marshall City Council met Monday, April 16, to certify election results as final and to have eight individuals take the oath of city office. Vince Lutterbie, Ward 2, made a motion to accept the election results as final and Barbara Utlaut, Ward 1, seconded it. All members of the council approved. City Clerk Janet French gave the oath of office to: Connie J. Latimer, four-year term of mayor; Lin Alexander, two-year term of city attorney; Edward B. McInteer, two-year term of municipal court judge; Diane Green, two-year term of city treasurer; Barbara Utlaut, two-year term of council member Ward 1; Gabe Ramsey, two-year term of council member Ward 2; Sam Moten, two-year term of council member Ward 3; and Lorna Alexander, two-year term of council member Ward 4. In other business, the city approved bids recommended from the department of municipal services meeting that was prior to the city council meeting.
