Ticketmaster sues eBay over ticket auctions
LOS ANGELES - Ticketmaster is suing eBay Inc. in Los Angeles, accusing the Internet auction company's subsidiary StubHub of fraudulently obtaining premium tickets to sell online. The lawsuit, filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, said StubHub induced artists' representatives or promoters to demand tickets from Ticketmaster's venue clients as part of a deal to bring an act or sports team to a location. In some cases, representatives for the acts had the tickets held back for “fan clubs" but intended to sell them via StubHub, according to documents filed with the lawsuit. A StubHub spokesman said the company believes “the lawsuit filed by Ticketmaster is without merit and we intend to vigorously defend ourselves against these unsubstantiated claims." Representatives for eBay could not be reached for comment.

Board bids farewell to Ferraro
Ross Ferraros last day presiding over a Carol Stream village board meeting came with a bulk of good-byes. Officials, community members and his son spent Monday evening reminiscing about Ferraros 20-year tenure and thanking him for his service. There were plaques issued, proclamations read and an honorary Ross Ferraro Day established in Carol Stream for April 29. He will be the grand marshal for the villages Fourth of July parade this year. You helped us branch out and helped make us what we are a community, Suzanne Hlotke, a longtime resident and former local reporter, told Ferraro. Ferraro wasnt the only one who was remembered during Mondays board meeting, which essentially doubled as a going away party for four outgoing village officials. Tom Shanahan, whose 16-year tenure makes him the longest-serving trustee on the village board, and Meldon Skip Stubbs were also recognized for their respective tenures, as well as the villages clerk, Janice Koester.
